Arthur rules the Empire
With a very successful NZ release now behind us, our thoughts are turning to the rest of the world. First up, the UK. All you lucky people in Blighty are soon to have the joy of meeting Arthur when The Insatiable Moon opens at the Empire in Leicester Square on 4th March.
Regular readers of the blog know that we’re the little film from nowhere, without the usual sort of lavish resources available to studio-backed or even normal independent films. We can’t spend gazillions on newspaper advertising or tube hoardings. Instead, in keeping with the story of the film, we depend on people like you to spread the word.
If all those who saw and loved the film in NZ contacted their friends and family in the UK and told them about the film’s release, that would be a good platform for us to build on. Rest assured the production team are also priming all the media pumps to make a splash before the release.
We’ve been warned about how hard it is to win audiences in the UK without a huge budget for advertising. But we’re still naive enough to believe that there are alternatives to money, and that a good movie is capable of gaining a decent following simply on its merits. And of course, we have Arthur on our side.
