Special Screenings

Posted on September 21, 2010 by Mike Riddell

Most of the world marks Mental Health Awareness Day on October 10. In New Zealand, the ever-dedicated Mental Health Foundation turns it into a whole week of celebration, from October 4 to 10. As part of the commemoration, The Insatiable Moon is proud to be working with the MHF to offer special fundraising preview screenings throughout the country.

And then, on October 11, a special gala premiere in association with Thames Reach will be held in London to mark the UK’s observation of World Mental Health Day. A wide range of dignitaries and VIPs will attend the screening which will include attendance by the director Rosemary Riddell, lead Rawiri Paratene, and all the producers.

The Insatiable Moon is not a film about mental health as such – rather it’s about the lives and fates of people who are regarded by outsiders as being strange. It invites audiences into a world they might not normally encounter, and hopefully opens eyes to the joy and humanity and wisdom to be found there. We’re very happy that a number of mental health agencies have found it a helpful way of opening up discussions about stigma.

Our special mental health screenings are as follows:
