Ripples in a pool

It’s a well known fact that word of mouth is the best possible way to promote a film. You can have all the money in the world to spend on advertising, but if your audience doesn’t like what you’ve done, the movie will die a death. On the other hand, if people warm to a film and start talking to their friends about it, the word travels like wildfire.

Needless to say, The Insatiable Moon is not wallowing in financial resources. We can’t afford television advertising or full-page magazine ads. What we have got is you – our army of supporters. Those of you who have seen the film tend to be fairly enthusiastic about it. One of you wrote recently: “Hi I am crushed that the film hasn’t made the cut for Toronoto – clearly the selectors are mad! I was at the prem in Auckland and haven’t been able to stop talking about the movie since then. In fact I was at a wedding last night telling a room full of people about it. Can’t wait til it hits a cinema here so I can go and get my second third fourth and fifth sitting in – thanks for making such a great movie.”

That’s the sort of response to die for! Telling everyone in the room is what we’d like you all to be doing! Let’s spread the rumour, so that the ripples spread out from the centre touching more and more – thereby building an audience.

For those of you still hungry to see the film, the next two outings are Hamilton (Tues 24/8 at 6.00pm & Wed 25/8 11.00am – Hamilton Lido) and Tauranga (Fri 3 /9 at 8.15pm & Sat 4/9 at 6.30pm – Tauranga Rialto). And of course, stay tuned for the big release on 7 October.
