The Fullness of the Moon

It is finished! Kua mutu!

Seven years ago, in 2003, a small group of intrepid pioneers raised a glass and made a commitment to make a film. Stumbling out into the night, we were confronted by a huge full moon hovering on the horizon.

Last night, another group reached the end of the audio mix, and declared The Insatiable Moon complete and ready to face the world. As we went out into the darkness, a huge portentous full moon greeted us. Is there any meaning in this disparate events? For us there is.

The small group who began the journey in London consisted of Rawiri Paratene, Tim Sanders, Pip Piper, Rob Taylor, and moi. All this time later, we’re all still on board – Rawiri as lead, Tim as Executive Producer, Pip Rob and I as Producers. There’s been a lot of water under the bridge during that time, as regular readers of the blog will be aware.

But here we are, on the verge of offering our baby to the world – and I have to say it feels pretty damned good. We have triumphed over every adversity that has stood in the way of getting this film up. And it’s a stronger and more resilient story because of all that. Director Rosemary Riddell has done a superb job of crafting the film and bringing it to glorious life. We look forward to sharing it all with you in a few weeks.
