Mixing it up

Posted on June 19, 2010 by Mike Riddell

Over the last week composer Neville Copland has been buried in a small studio with Dean Kerr, working on the final music mix for the film. Lots of early morning sessions slaving over a hot Logic. And by Wednesday, it was all done and dusted, and delivered to Images. From here on in we’re working on the final mix of the film, with music, dialogue and effects. Another week and it will be all done – with a few days to spare before we deliver the finished product for screening at the NZ Film Festival.

I can’t speak highly enough of the dedication and professionalism Neville has brought to the job. Of course with four Film & Television awards for best music, he has some experience! But he’s brought his heart and soul to this project, and we’re the grateful recipients of it. I think people will be blown away by the soundtrack of the movie.

Hats off too to our singer/songwriters who have contributed tracks to the film: Luke Hurley, Johnny Matteson, Miller Christensen-Yule (with Gala Harwood), the late Mahinarangi Tocker and samRB. Lovely lovely stuff, including instrumentation by Richard Nunns. We look forward to sharing it with you.
